30th anniversary of Magion 1

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the launch of the first Czechoslovak satellite MAGION there was an exhibition organized by Observatory and Planetarium of the capital city Prague and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics ASCR that reminds the origin and development of our first satellites MAGION. Look forward to a flight model, instruments and historical photos.

Cooperation with Russia

Czech Space Office in collaboration with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Prague organized an international seminar on Russian-Czech cooperation in space research. The event was attended by nearly four tens of Czech and Russian experts, who discussed the issues of future cooperation.

IAC 2008 in Glasgow

Czech Space Office takes part at the 59th International Astronautical Congress that takes place in Scottish Glasgow. It is primarily going to use this opportunity to present the capabilities of Czech industry and science in the field of cosmonautics. The congress starts on September 29th and lasts till October 3rd 2008.

ESNC 2008

This year, the competition called European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is going to commemorate its fifth year. One can submit there any possible idea, system solution or a prototype, which employs satellite navigation systems. In the Czech Republic, ESNC is organized by Czech Space Office (CSO) and the funding is provided by the local Ministry of Transport.

První velký kontrakt s ESA

Aerospace Research and Test Establishment (VZLÚ, a. s.) has concluded a contract with a company “EADS Astrium” to create one testing and three fully flight-capable pieces of microaccelerometers for a ESA’s scientific mission called Swarm. It is the first big equipment-supply contract of a Czech firm for the ESA probes. Apart from the VZLÚ, other fourteen Czech organizations are going to take part.
