Reflections on IAC 2015

The Czech Space Office has returned from 66th International Astronautical Congress 2015 in Jerusalem. Motto of the IAC 2015 was "Space - the Gateway for Mankind's Future" and it was attended by total of 2,100 registered participants.

HIS 2015 is coming

From June 29 to July 3, Prague will host the international Humans in Space Symposium focused on issues of human presence in space and the related research and technology. The Symposium is organized by the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and the Czech Space Office (CSO).

Reflection on IAC 2014

Czech Space Office has successfully completed its participation at the 65th International Astronautical Congress in Toronto. The time at the Cogress the CSO devoted to promoting Czech aerospace. CSO has also been involved in the activities of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) of which the CSO director serves as vicepresident.

XCOR Aerospace cooperation

The Czech Space Office announced today the signing of an exclusive agreement with XCOR Aerospace. The agreement authorizes the CSO to become an Authorized Payload Integrator of XCOR’s Lynx®, a rocket-powered suborbital spacecraft currently being built at XCOR’s headquarters in Mojave, California.

Heading towards Jupiter

ESA finalized the selection of the scientific hardware for JUICE probe with an objective of detailed planetary research of Jupiter and its moons. The probe will carry on-board 11 scientific instruments with co-developments provided also by Czech researchers. JUICE is going to start its journey in 2022 and is expected to reach Jupiter by 2030.

CSO supports students

Space enthusiasts are likely to have a busy time this year. Like in previous years, there are many programs with support of the Czech Space Office available for them. Space education opportunities are available for kids of all age starting from kindergarten to university students.

Focus on asteroids

Several small meteorites impacted Russia causing damage this morning. Bigger asteroid will pass by Earth in its close proximity this evening. Not only Czech academic and university departments, which are occupied with observing the proximity of Earth, are studying such phenomena.
