UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space adopted the conclusions of an international workshop on human space flight and Solar System exploration. CSO presented the status of relevant research in the Czech Republic and participated in the formulation of recommendations of the working group on research in microgravity conditions.
CSO, in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engeneering, CTU (Czech Technical University) in Prague, organized a seminar on small satellites on March 4, which convened the presentation of the state to solve their project teams that work in the Czech Republic on cubesate preparation.
Prof. JUDr. Vladimír Kopal DrSc. passed away on 27 January 2014 at the ripe age of 85 years. He was a world and former Czechslovakia pioneer of international space law, who had became an icon tahnks to his long career at the United Nations and Czech academic environment.
CSO participated in the January Summit of Heads of Space Agencies and Space Exploration Conference in Washington, USA. The director of CSO, Jan Kolář spoke about the multicultural foundations of manned spaceflight.
The objective of the project was to develop and experimentally validate propagation models and relevant input data for the statistical prediction of radio interference on ground terminals of satellite systems including the implementation of the models into a software tool.
The project was focused on statistical fitting of model parameters to measurements, identification of worst case scenario and geometry optimisation and its goal was to propose a methodology for optimisation of nozzle extension geometry so as to minimise its weight and maximise its reliability with respect to the prescribed uncertain loading.
The influence of the real tropospheric environment on the characteristics of both optical and radio terrestrial links was examined. The research was based on results of complex measurements of optical, radio and meteorological parameters.
Today at 11:24 first, complete data were received from three devices aboard the ESA Swarm satellites that come from the workbenches of the Aerospace Research and Test Establishment in Prague (VZLÚ). Their goal is to detect almost negligible accelerations of the orbiting satellites.
Iris is a multi-year program funded by the European Space Agency (ESA - ARTES 10). The objective of the Iris program is to design and develop new satellite communication systems for safety critical air/ground data and voice communication, enabling the future ATM (Air Traffic Management) concepts being defined by SESAR and NextGen.
The aim of the ESPRIT project was to propose a preliminary satellite system design for UAS C2 (Command & Control) link and to develop a business case analysis from the UAS C2 service provider perspective, and an analysis of the operational concept of the satellite system.
