The Czech Republic passed first four years of membership at the European Space Agency. Based on the Analysis provided by Czech Space Office, it becomes clear that this period was successful and the public funding for the Czech involvement in optional programmes should double at next Ministerial Council.

Students from the Department of Surface and Plasma Science at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University created a platform for stratospheric balloon flight BEXUS hybrid radiation detectors Medipix2 and Timepix. The project was implemented with the support of the team Medipix Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics CTU in Prague.
The SWAN activity was related to the new ESA concept of the Common Monitoring and Control Platform (CMCP) for both the Mission Control System (MCS) and the Ground Station Monitoring & Control system (GSMC). The goal of the SWAN study was to identify the current design limitations of SCOS-2000 and suggest its software extension with a number of features needed for the GSMC.
Czech R&D specialists from the Aerospace Research and Test Establishment (VZLU) in Prague completed the very last piece of flight model of micro-accelerometer –special measurement device for ESA SWARM mission. Accelerometers will be moved to Germany for integration into satellites at EADS Astrium premises.
