CSO presents its annual report 2015

The annual report describes activities and results of the Czech Space Office (CSO) in 2015. In this period, the most of activities were supported and funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports within programmes of international cooperation in research and development EUPRO II and INGO II. Part of the activities was founded by the Operational Programme “Education for Competitiveness” and Horizon 2020.

Czech Space Office operation in 2015 was based on the strategic goals broken down into specific activities that can be divided into several areas – analysis and studies about Czech participation in space programmes and projects; consultancy and seminars about space project opportunities and project administration; promotion of Czech space organizations at international level; and support of student space projects and education.

In 2015, the Czech Space Office staff provided more than 65 consultations for public administration and decision makers, industry and academia. CSO carried out total of 5 events attended by over 150 experts from different organizations. CSO also published documents, such as the Czechspace magazine, Czech Space Activities brochure or factsheets of completed Czech space projects to extend the public awareness of the benefits from space exploration and technologies. 

Czech Space Office introduces space activities to general public and young people through education and outreach lectures as well as social networks and mass media interviews. In 2015, CSO organized almost 70 lectures for 3000 people. CSO also invited several NASA and ESA astronauts to the Czech Republic.

An important activity of the Czech Space Office is promotion Czech entities on international space events and representing Czech interest at international level in ESA, IAF, IAA, UNOOSA, SGAC and ELGRA. In 2015, CSO organized international Humans in Space symposium in Prague with more than 170 world experts on human spaceflights.
