Reflection on IAC 2014

Czech Space Office has successfully completed its participation at the 65th International Astronautical Congress in Toronto. The time at the Cogress the CSO devoted to promoting Czech aerospace. CSO has also been involved in the activities of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) of which the CSO director serves as vicepresident.

IAC 2014 - Day Five

The last day, the Congress was open to public and the program was also attended by many children and their teachers. The General Assembly has chosen venue of IAC Congress in 2017, the Australian Adelaide. Jan Kolář, the director of CSO, was re-elected for IAF Vice president and we evaluate the Toronto Congress more or less positively.

IAC 2014 - Day Four

The fourth day of the Congress was very busy due to negotiations with the IAF and affiliates and discussions carried out during the Congress exhibition. As in previous days, the topic of small satellites came up several times, because its realization and launch today provide dozens of private companies and universities.

IAC 2014 - Day Three

The third day of the Congress began with the extension of range of our promotional materials by American company XCOR Aerospace and it continued with the visit of several university booths and start-up companies focused on building small satellites and presenting a joint poster with colleagues from Kosmonauta.net.

IAC 2014 - Day Two

Our Tuesday's programme consisted of, in addition to traditional presentation at the booth, participation in the plenary session of the commercial human space flight, of which exchange of different points of view of several space industry leaders took place. A great experience was the early evening Highlight Lecture with Professor Bibring presentation of the first scientific results of the ESA Rosetta probe and preparations for the November landing of its module of Philae.

IAC 2014 - Day One

The first day of the Congress, we put together our booth and greeted the first visitors. In contrast to the experience of previous years, the attendance was noticeably smaller, but we hope that the interest in the exhibition will increase during the Congress. In our showcase, this year with the largest number of exhibits, there are product samples from nine of Czech organizations like private companies, Academia and universities.
