French satellite TARANIS will be tasked with studying of radiation from atmospheric lightning discharges and from optical phenomena observed between the Earth's troposphere and ionosphere. The IDEE-A unit is designed for the measurement control, storage and processing of the data and their pipelining to the scientific telemetry MEXIC.

French satellite TARANIS will be tasked with studying of radiation from atmospheric lightning discharges and from optical phenomena observed between the Earth's troposphere and ionosphere (blue jets, red sprites, halos, elves). The IME-HF will record detailed waveform measurements of fluctuating electric fields in the frequency range from a few kHz up to 37 MHz.

A customized lightweight and low-power radiation micro-tracker has been constructed for the satellite RISESAT (Rapid International Scientific Experiment Satellite) which will be launched in 2016. The micro-tracker is equipped with state-of-the-art hybrid semiconductor pixel detector technology developed by the Medipix Collaboration.
