BMSW device has been designed and built at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague as a part of the measuring plasma complex for the Russian astrophysical satellite Spektr-R (Radioastron). It was successfully launched into orbit, which is suitable for measurement of processes in the Earth's magnetosphere.
In the project GRAVARC at the Large Diameter Centrifuge at ESA ESTEC team of two PhD students investigated the behaviour of gliding arc discharge in carbon containing atmosphere in conditions of hypergravity as well as the properties of the solid products prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition in discharge plasma channel.
