Heading towards Jupiter

ESA finalized the selection of the scientific hardware for JUICE probe with an objective of detailed planetary research of Jupiter and its moons. The probe will carry on-board 11 scientific instruments with co-developments provided also by Czech researchers. JUICE is going to start its journey in 2022 and is expected to reach Jupiter by 2030.

Biological research seminar

Czech Space Office organizes a workshop for Czech scientific community on biological and astrobiologického research. The aim is to apprise the participants with possibilities of realization of the experiments and forthcoming ESA challenges in usage of the International Space Station and terrestrial scientific equipment. Registration is open till 11th June 2013.

Focus on asteroids

Several small meteorites impacted Russia causing damage this morning. Bigger asteroid will pass by Earth in its close proximity this evening. Not only Czech academic and university departments, which are occupied with observing the proximity of Earth, are studying such phenomena.

FLUTTER

The goal of the project was flutter assessment of jettisonable versatile thermal insulation panels of upper cryogenic stage of a launcher.

Space year 2013

Czech astronautics made big achievements linked to two important projects. Modified detectors Timepix are going to be lifted off in April on ESA Proba-V. In the early summer time, three Swarm satellites are expected to be put onto their orbits.

Small liner features

The objective of the project was to design, implement and test innovative remote sensing based services for SLF monitoring and demonstrate and validate their utility for the work of European Environmental Agency (EEA).

GRAVARC

In the project GRAVARC at the Large Diameter Centrifuge at ESA ESTEC team of two PhD students investigated the behaviour of gliding arc discharge in carbon containing atmosphere in conditions of hypergravity as well as the properties of the solid products prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition in discharge plasma channel.

Participation in ESA projects

13th December 2012, Czech Space Office organizes a seminar December on Participation in ESA projects. The seminar is intended for workplaces with no or little experience with projects of the European Space Agency. Its contents are basic information about ESA and current opportunities for involvement in its activities.

ARES

The ARES system supports large storage data capacities allowing efficient and concurrent access to mission operations data like Telemetry parameters, TeleCommand history, TeleCommand acceptance/failure status, Spacecraft events, and events generated by the Mission Control System SCOS-2000.
