Generic technologies

ARES

The ARES system supports large storage data capacities allowing efficient and concurrent access to mission operations data like Telemetry parameters, TeleCommand history, TeleCommand acceptance/failure status, Spacecraft events, and events generated by the Mission Control System SCOS-2000.

SWARM

The Swarm project was focused on the modification of the accelerometer, which has been successfully deployed in previous national space projects. The instrument was adapted to the specific requirements of the Swarm mission and constructed in three pieces in accordance with ESA applicable standards.

NAOMI

In the NAOMI project there was handled the design and production of spectral filter prototype based on calomel, which would be compatible with the imager on a small satellite. Calomel is a material that is because of its charakteristics suitable for use in acousto-optical tunable filters - AOTF.

SWAN

The SWAN activity was related to the new ESA concept of the Common Monitoring and Control Platform (CMCP) for both the Mission Control System (MCS) and the Ground Station Monitoring & Control system (GSMC). The goal of the SWAN study was to identify the current design limitations of SCOS-2000 and suggest its software extension with a number of features needed for the GSMC.

X-RAY OPTICS

The main objective of the X-ray Optics project was to modify the technology for the preparation of special optical modules for ESA X-ray astrophysics missions. The company proposed and verified innovative technologies for preparation of optical modules with silicon substrates.

DTL/DML

The “DTL/DML based MCS Demonstrator” is a follow-on activity with the purpose of verifying the new EGOS Data Transfer and Data Management libraries (DTL/DML) within the existing Mission Control System SCOS-2000.

Advanced SCOS-2000 monitoring

The aim of the SCOS-2000 Advanced Monitoring project was to verify latest technologies for monitoring and visualization of telemetry data and commands in the satellite system SCOS-2000. The project also addressed the application of the resulting analysis and prototypes in the context of a new European Ground Operation Software architecture (EGOS).

First year in ESA

The data of Czech Space Office (CSO) show that in early 2010 there were 14 contracts signed between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Czech workplaces because of incentive program for Czech industry. The research leader for five of them, which were recommended, is the Czech Technical University or Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and for the eleven ones are the private companies.
