Czech Space Office (CSO) in cooperation with ESA Telecom department and Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) organized a seminar "ESA - opportunities for czech companies and institutions in the field of telecommunications". The seminar was held on 11.12.2007 on the premises of MEYS. The seminar was intended for companies and institutions which are more than interested in cooperation with ESA and whose R&D activities are similar to some of the activities in the extensive ESA Telecom program. Program of the seminar in pdf.

ESA representatives present at the seminar were Mr. Jorgen Sandberg, Head of Technology Projects Division, Telecommunications Department and Mr. Norbert Hubner, Satcom Applications Section, Future Projects and Applications Division, Telecommunications Department.

The presented topics of the seminar were CSO, ESA, PECS program and Telecom program ARTES. Face-to-face talks between companies and ESA expert´s team were also a part of the seminar.

The meeting took place in Small Mirror Hall of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Karmelitská 8, Prague 1. There were present 17 various institutions and companies involved in telecommunications (for a list see bottom of this page).

The seminar was first of its kind in the Czech republic. It was the first seminar informing about potencial cooperation between ESA and czech institutions in the field of telecommunications. This meeting was a first step towards the increased number of czech institutions involved in cooperation with ESA. It is clear that more seminars and other promoting work must be done yet to fulfill this CSO main goal.
