NAVCOM stands for Navigation and Telecommunication. The reason for using it was merely practical - limited capacity of letters for navigation menu. Merging of these two subjects was of course due to its proximity in technology but most importantly because of already existing ESA department which bears the same name - Directorate of Telecommunication and Navigation, D/TEN. This part of the CSO website is administrated by the CSO Department of Telecommunication and Navigation. The main activities of this department are:
- information on ESA telecommunication and navigation programmes
- administration of PECS projects related to ITTs managed by the Directorate of Telecommunication and Navigation (D/TEN)
- Galileo Programme
