Launchers in CZ
Czech Republic is active member of launchers development community. National R&D activities proved to be competitive in ESA FLPP programme. Currently, more than 15 companies and research organizations are getting involved in launcher related activities. Although, the heritage in launchers started only in 2008, raising level of awareness and interest is clearly manifested via several successful participations in both CZ/ESA Task Force open calls and active participation in FLPP programme.
Several CZ R&D and industrial organizations are progressing to work with ESA programme managers and prime contractors, with first development contract being signed in 2010.
We expect more contracts and even whole flight systems being developed and manufactured by local companies. With strong herritage in chemistry, propellant, structures, avionics and machinery, Launcher sector can benefit from local industrial and R&D know-how.
Czech Republic is evaluating achievements reached during first period of participation in Launchers domain of European Space Agency. With its' return on investment, Launchers are not only spurring knowledge based economy, but also have real and sound economical foundation.
